My Favorite NBA Player: LeBron James

Basketball has been an important part of my life. This has a lot to do with the fact that I have a basketball fan father. I was influenced by basketball a lot in my childhood. Over time, it became natural that I have a huge interest in basketball and fell in love with this fantastic sport.

Not just that I like to play basketball, I love to watch NBA games too. It all started when I was about three. It was a rainy day, so Dad and I stayed at home. Suddenly, he dragged me to the living room, we sat in front of the television then he asked me to watch the NBA with him. I couldn’t understand the rules well, but one player from the game caught my sight. I was so attracted by his attitude facing his enemies and the way he tried his best playing the game. Running, sweating, respiring, I felt like I could see his ambition from the expression in his eyes. He was willing to give in all his efforts to win. The young me started to enjoy watching all his games. Every year, I would become so excited before the playoffs. During the weekends, I would find the highlights and watch all the games he played that I missed during the weekdays. This person who I have been admiring for years is the contemporary basketball superstar, LeBron James.

An interesting fact was that I was born the second year he joined the National Basketball Association. I believed that he had never ignored his original intention of playing basketball, not because of money nor reputation, but for his passion for playing basketball. Since I have been watching him play, I slowly understood his personality outside the screen. Players often try to gain fans by showing how well they play on the basketball court to the audience and sometimes forget to behave as well while resting in the auditorium. But he was different. I saw him many times not showing how proud he was when his team wins games, but taking the initiative to go high- five with his opponent. He would also praise the performance of his teammates, instead of talking about how good his shots were.

I believe in LeBron James and his fiery heart. For all his fans, King James really is the KING. He was the second person to complete the Grand Slam in a single season, and the last player who achieved this was the Hall of Fame star, Michael Jordan. King James was the youngest NBA player to score 10,000 points when he was only 23 years old and also became the youngest NBA player to score 30,000 points when he was only 33. He and his different teammates have gained two championships for team Miami Heat and gain the first championship for Cleveland Cavaliers.

LeBron James is also strong and tough, the game that I remember the most was the one he played against Boston Celtics. He stayed on the court for the whole game, forty- eight minutes he played, in total. It was a miracle. I was so impressed by his perseverance and endurance, and the fact that he will not give up on his team. I believe that he gain people’s respect by his passion and determination, which already makes me admire him a lot more.

In the year 2018, LeBron James joined in the team Los Angeles Lakers. Even though they did not enter the playoffs successfully during the season of 2018-2019 because of the numerous wounded, I believe they will gain a better record the next season, since another great player, Anthony Davis, is also joining the team. Under the cooperation of LeBron James and his new teammates, the next playoff would be excellent to watch! And I really hope that they can gain another championship for Los Angeles Lakers.
